About TradAstro

In antiquity, astrology was an exacting discipline combining celestial observation, spherical trigonometry, and philosophical inquiry. From Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos and Vettius Valens' Anthology to Abu Ma'shar and William Lilly, traditional astrologers developed a self-consistent symbolic methodology.

TradAstro preserves the integrity of these foundational lineages. We believe astrological charts should be approached with structural rigor, academic discipline, and objective clarity, ensuring every house cusp, bound ruler, and aspect orb is grounded in authentic source literature.

Accurate predictive delineation demands uncompromised mathematical precision. TradAstro integrates the Swiss Ephemeris engine to calculate planetary longitudes, diurnal arcs, lunar nodes, and fixed stars with professional-grade accuracy.

• House Systems: Full support for Whole Sign Houses (standard in Hellenistic tradition), alongside classic quadrant systems including Alcabitius, Regiomontanus, and Placidus.
• Dignity & Bounds: Seamless toggling between Egyptian Bounds and Ptolemaic Terms, alongside Dorothean triplicity rulership arrays.
• Geocoding & Timezones: Built-in global coordinates and historical daylight saving time tables to minimize birth chart calculation error.

TradAstro is not merely a wheel drawing utility—it is a comprehensive analytical suite designed for rigorous practice:

• Essential Dignities: Instant evaluation of domicile rulership, exaltation, triplicity, bounds, and faces, including mutual reception and traditional reception mechanics.
• Multi-Layer Predictive Tools: Seamlessly cross-reference long-term chapters (Firdaria periods, annual profections) with dynamic timing triggers (Solar Arc Directions, Secondary Progressions, and transits).
• Synastry & Composite Perspectives: Evaluate interpersonal dynamics from two distinct angles—direct cross-chart interactions (synastry) and the emergent entity of the union itself (composite midpoints).
• Classical Electional Timing: Scan planetary configurations against classical electional criteria to identify optimal electional windows.

We view the birth chart as a reflective lens for examining temperament, structural life patterns, and timing cycles—never as a fatalistic doctrine.

Traditional astrology represents a rich symbolic heritage. We firmly oppose utilizing astrology for medical diagnosis, financial speculation, or as a replacement for competent real-world professional counsel. We advocate a rational, scholarly, and contemplative mindset.

TradAstro is developed and maintained by an independent multidisciplinary team of software engineers and classical astrology researchers.
