What are whole-sign houses?

In the whole-sign house system, each zodiac sign is one complete house. The sign that holds the Ascendant is the 1st house; the following signs become houses 2–12. House cusps sit at 0° of each sign, which keeps rulers and house topics easy to track.

Why traditional astrologers use it

  • Clear domicile rulers — each house has an unambiguous sign lord.
  • Aligned with the ecliptic — a planet’s sign is also its house.
  • Stable topics — career, relationships, and relocation map to fixed houses.
